Using AI to Make Manufacturing Smarter, Faster and More Sustainable

28 August 2025

Martin Kaprockyj, Co-Founder of Big Bower, brings experience in IT and supplement manufacturing to this forward-thinking venture, which is revolutionising product development through AI. In this article, he shares how Big Bower, winner of the Biosphere Award at the Isle of Man Innovation Challenge, is helping brands launch products more efficiently and sustainably. By cutting out waste, shortening supply chains, and empowering creators with smart tools, Big Bower is proving that innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

When we created Big Bower, we weren’t just trying to build another B2B marketplace. We set out to solve a real-world problem. Making it faster and easier for anyone to create and launch their own product, without wasting time, money or resources. Whether it’s a new drink brand, a supplement, or a cosmetics range, Big Bower connects people directly with trusted manufacturers through a simple, AI-powered platform.

Big Bower is headquartered on the Isle of Man, with a presence in Milton Keynes, and was one of the winners of the Isle of Man Innovation Challenge 2025, taking home the Biosphere Award. That win was more than a trophy. It was a signal that the work we’re doing to make manufacturing more efficient and more sustainable matters.

Innovation Challenge impact

Winning the Biosphere category was a huge milestone for us. It gave us a platform to raise awareness, opened doors with partners and investors, and most importantly, validated our mission. The feedback from the judges helped sharpen our thinking and gave us confidence to go even bigger with our ambitions.

Being recognised as a company contributing to the Isle of Man’s UNESCO Biosphere status was especially meaningful. We’re proud to be building something here that has the potential to make a global impact, and to do it in a way that supports the local economy and environment.

How Big Bower supports sustainability

The manufacturing process is full of inefficiencies, from overproduction and wasted samples to long lead times and unnecessary shipping. Big Bower tackles this with smart technology.

Our platform uses AI to help brands develop product ideas, generate instant specifications, and match with vetted manufacturers who can deliver. No middlemen. No guesswork. No wasted time.

By automating the early stages of product development, we reduce the number of samples needed, cut down on excess stock, and allow brands to work with local or regional manufacturers. That means fewer emissions, lower overheads, and faster routes to market, all while keeping quality high.

Sustainability isn’t just a feature of our business. It’s baked into the model.

What’s happened since the Innovation Challenge

Since winning, we’ve launched the Big Bower MVP (minimum viable product) and have already processed over £15,000 in early orders. Seven brands have created products using the platform, with more in the pipeline every week.

We’ve also grown our supplier network, expanded our AI features, and begun building a subscriber base of early adopters. The traction is real, and the momentum is building.

We recently secured a partnership with a major supplement brand that’s using Big Bower to streamline their product development process. We’ve also received interest from businesses in other sectors like cosmetics, food and drink, and pet care, all looking for smarter ways to get products made.

Looking ahead

Our goal is to make Big Bower the go-to platform for product development and manufacturing. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be rolling out more features, onboarding hundreds of manufacturers, and growing our community of product creators.

We want to attract investment to accelerate that growth, and we’re actively speaking with investors who share our vision for a more efficient, transparent and sustainable supply chain.

We also plan to continue building on the Isle of Man, creating skilled jobs, collaborating with local stakeholders, and doing our part to position the island as a hub for innovation and green business.

Advice for other businesses

If you’re trying to innovate in the sustainability space, here’s our advice. Solve a real problem. Make your product or service genuinely useful, not just green for the sake of it.

The second piece of advice is to build fast. Get your idea out there, test it, and improve it. Don’t wait for perfection. Iterate.

Finally, be bold. The world needs fresh thinking and creative solutions. If you’ve got an idea that could make a difference, now is the time to act.
